Jamiel Shaw Jr. was a star football player at Los Angeles High, who, as a junior, was named the Southern League's most valuable player last season. Shaw was so talented that Stanford University and Rutgers University were both scouting him as a recruit to eventually offer him a scholarship. Jamiel's mother, Anita Shaw, is a Sergeant in the United States Army and was serving her second tour in Iraq when she learned about her son's murder.
This special edition of "Morning Invasion" will attempt to generate awareness about gang violence in Los Angeles, especially between Latino and African American gangs, in order to hopefully bring an end to it all. |
